1967 foundation of ROFA GmbH by Georg Uttscheid and Reiner Schramm
1971 the company moved from the Schlossberg (Rosenheim, Germany) into the new premises in the Rosenheimer Strasse (Kolbermoor, Germany)
1974 construction of the first electrified monorail system
1984 first large orders in Russia
Mid 80ies first major foreign orders in Spain and Belgium
1989 first AGV System for VW
1990 turnover of DM 40 Mio. and 100 employees
1990 establishment of a manufacturing facility in Hungary, ROFA Müvek Tervezö KFT
1993 resignation of Georg Uttscheid and takeover of the company by Hartmut Uttscheid and Wolfgang Kozsar

The company's strategic orientation is being expanded. As a general contractor, the ROFA Group offers integrated solutions for intralogistics. The product range is expanded by automatic high-bay warehouses, sorting systems and picking solutions.

2006 acquisition of the conveyor sector of the insolvent Helmut Lehmer GmbH and foundation of the subsidiary ROFA-LEHMER Förderanlagen GmbH in Bodenwöhr, Germany
2009 acquisition of Davidson Conveyor Systems Inc. (Ohio, USA)  by ROFA BeteiligungsAG
2010 foundation of the subsidiary MAT GmbH in Perkam (Germany)
2011 foundation of the subsidiary ROFA Sistemas de Movimentação e Montagem S.A in Brazil
2011 acquisition of the conveyor sector of the insolvent MOLL GmbH by MAT GmbH and change of name to MOLL Automatisierung GmbH

Thus, the scope of products is rounded to supply the automotive industry in the field of final assembly and body construction with the full range of ROFA-developed technology.

2012 foundation of ROFA Controls Romania S.R.L in Timisoara, Romania
2012 merger with ROFA BeteiligungsAG and renaming of ROFA GmbH into ROFA INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION AG
2013 acquisition of Dynamic Logistic Systems B.V. (DLS) in Doetinchem, The Netherlands by ROFA INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION AG
2014 ROFA INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION AG is honored with the award "Bavaria's Best 50"
2015 acquisition of MLR System GmbH in Ludwigsburg, Germany by ROFA INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION AG

With the acquisition, the group is expanding its portfolio of "Driverless Transport Vehicles (FTF)". The new requirements of the automotive industry for the production of electric cars are thus taken into account at an early stage.
2016 merging all US subsidiaries to ROFA NORTH AMERICA, located in Greer, S.C., USA
2017 foundation of a further subsidiary in China, ROFA INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION TECHNOLOGY (Wuxi) Co., Ltd.

As a result, ROFA is expanding its market area in intralogistics on the Asian sector.
